In its early years, the SGGA focused on:

• Advocating for grower interests at the provincial level.
• Establishing connections among growers through events and workshops.
• Sharing knowledge to improve growing techniques and business practices.

Through these efforts, SGGA quickly became a trusted resource and a driving force for the growth of the greenhouse industry in Saskatchewan.

As the industry evolved, so did SGGA’s role. Over the decades, we have:

• Partnered with government and industry stakeholders to influence policies that benefit growers.
• Launched innovative programs, including our Tag Discount Program and annual conferences.
• Developed training and educational resources to help members adapt to new technologies and practices.
• Served as a liaison to the government, advocating for sustainability and economic growth in the greenhouse sector.

Here are a few key moments in our journey:

• 1985: Hosted our first annual conference, bringing together growers from across the province.
• 1995: Introduced the SGGA Newsletter, providing members with timely updates and industry news.
• 2000s: Expanded our focus to include sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
• 2015: Launched our online presence, making resources and membership more accessible than ever.
• 2020: Adapted to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic by hosting virtual events and providing critical support to members.
